AAP - Wastewater Treatment Plant Loan Authorization Borrowing Bylaw
The District of Sparwood intends to adopt “Wastewater Treatment Plant Loan Authorization Borrowing Bylaw 1342, 2025”. The purpose of the bylaw is to borrow an amount not to exceed $20,000,000 to finance the costs of the upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment Plant that will be repaid over a period not to exceed 30 years.
The upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment Plant are focused on the secondary treatment process and will include the upgrade of the oxidation ditch with sequence batch reactors and a dewatering component to meet increased demand. The upgrades will replace aging infrastructure, improve safety, improve the water quality of effluent, and accommodate growth by increasing unit capacity and redundancy.
If you are in favour of the adoption of the bylaw, no action is required.
If you are opposed to the adoption of the bylaw, complete and submit the Elector Response Form and return to the Corporate Officer by 4:00pm on June 5, 2025.
