The Elk Valley COVID Support Team
The Elk Valley COVID Support Team (EVCST) is a volunteer group - organized by the Mountainside Community Church. The support team has launched an initiative to help assist with keeping Elk Valley Communities safe by minimizing social contact while providing essential physical, emotional, and spiritual support to those who are isolated or quarantined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Services provided are:
- Picking up and delivering groceries and medications
- Emotional support through phone call check ins
- Pastoral care such as pastoral counselling, prayer and grief support

The District of Sparwood is pleased to announce the newest member of the team, Lyle Hannan - who will be joining the team as Director of Corporate Services.
As part of the ongoing communication and collaboration with various key agencies within the municipality, the District of Sparwood is launching a Volunteer Registry. This registry is being developed out of advanced planning and an abundance of precaution and will be utilized only if it becomes necessary during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Council Facts is a publication by the District of Sparwood which summarizes the key decisions of Council. Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise changed or cancelled by resolution. The public is encouraged to attend regular Council, Committee of the Whole and Council Committee meetings. Copies of agenda packages and minutes are available online at www.Sparwood.ca. Current agendas are available by the preceding Friday afternoon. Video recordings of regular meetings are available on the District’s website at https://sparwood.ca/council-videos within 24 hours of the meeting.
