    The 2019 Tax Notices have been mailed out.  If you are a new owner and do not receive a tax notice by June 8, 2019, please come into the District Office to obtain a duplicate copy. The deadline for paying your 2019 property taxes without penalty is Thursday, July 4, 2019.

    The District of Sparwood recognizes the contribution that seniors make to our community.  Those Sparwood seniors who have, or will, reach the age of 75 years this year are invited to meet with Mayor Wilks and members of Council to sign the “Senior’s Birthday Book” and receive a commemorative pin.

    Council will hold an informal public hearing at the Special Meeting on April 30, 2019 for Development Variance Permit 2019-004 for 1241 Sycamore Road to decrease the minimum side yard for an accessory building to construct a detached garage.

    The applicant has applied for a variance to allow for construction of a detached garage in the rear of the property which is within the side yard setback and taller than allowed in the Zoning Bylaw.

    Beginning Tuesday, May 21, 2019, the District will be offering a Residential Spring Cleanup service. 

    Items* can be placed just off the property line to be picked up with a loader and brought to the Transfer Station. 

    To participate, you must register by May 17, 2019. Cost is $20 but free for those over 65.

    Teck has issued notice that there will be a seasonal private road closure on a section of Coal Leach Road at the 82.5 km marker from Monday April 15, 2019.

    The road will remain closed until water is no longer flowing over the road. Access from Corbin Road to Coal Leach Road will not be possible during this time.
