Ours, mine, and yours. The lowdown and highlights on our great community.
Municipal issues, city works, Mayor & Council, and more!

“We want to make sure that Sparwood is a community where older people can age actively, live in security, enjoy good health and participate fully in society. An Age-Friendly Community Plan will help ensure that Sparwood remains an attractive place to live with features that not only benefit seniors, but also support the health, safety, and enjoyment of residents of all ages.

Before we can plan for the future, we need to understand how age-friendly Sparwood is today, and what the key community issues and priorities are. We want to hear from a range of residents and stakeholder groups to inform the development of the plan. This includes seniors, but also senior service providers, care givers, the ‘next generation of seniors’ (people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s), and residents of all ages. Join as at one of our community sessions on June 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm or June 25th from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at the seniors centre. Or, complete our online survey, paper copies are available at the Leisure Centre and the District office.

Sparwood, BC is yours and mine. We may be called ‘that town with the big green truck;’ or we might be that community in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, right on BC’s border. But if there’s one thing we are to everyone, it’s a mining community; a collection of hard-working fun-loving people who happily call Sparwood home. We’re proud to share that with you. Stop by anytime, share a smile or stay a while. It’s yours and mine to discover!
