Working together to outrun Cancer!

The Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive event where people get together as individuals, families, and groups to raise money for cancer research in Terry's name. It is a day of celebrating Terry's legacy and helping to keep alive his dream of finding a cure for cancer.

Terry Fox Runs take place annually on the second Sunday after Labour Day in over 9,000 communities across Canada and are accessible to anyone with no entry fee, no minimum pledge and a non-competitive atmosphere. Participants can run, walk, blade or bike and most of all have fun while raising funds for cancer research.

In Sparwood, the run takes place at the Leisure Complex, located at 367 Pine Avenue.  It is a wonderful family and community event on a Sunday morning where you choose your course, 1 km, 3 km or 5 km. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

The Terry Fox Run will take place on September 15, 2019.  Come down to the Leisure Centre and join in the fun of the 1, 3 or 5 km run/walk. All routes are suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs on leash are welcome! Registration begins at 10:00 am at the spray park and the run/walk starts at 11:00 am. To learn how you can register, contact the Leisure Complex staff at 250.425.0552 or by email at or visit the Terry Fox Foundation.
