As part of the ongoing communication and collaboration with various key agencies within the municipality, the District of Sparwood is launching a Volunteer Registry. This registry is being developed out of advanced planning and an abundance of precaution and will be utilized only if it becomes necessary during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In support of the Provincial order for social distancing and as part of our effort to flatten the curve for the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all District of Sparwood playgrounds (play structures), basketball courts, ball diamonds, tennis courts and the skateboard park are now closed to the public. Signs will be posted at these facilities.
Trail networks and park spaces remain open and families are encouraged to spend time outdoors and be active, while being mindful of maintaining social distancing of 2 meters between users.
We appreciate your compliance and understanding.
The District of Sparwood has activated its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in support of the government of British Columbia’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
The EOC has been established to provide a central contact point of information and will allow the District to coordinate communication with many important external agencies, as well as plan and work collaboratively with local, regional and provincial efforts that are underway.
