Sparwood, BC is yours and mine.

We may be called ‘that town with the big green truck’ or we might be that community in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, right on BC’s border. But if there’s one thing we are to everyone, it’s a mining community; a collection of hard-working fun-loving people who happily call Sparwood home. We’re proud to share that with you.
Stop by anytime, share a smile or stay a while. It’s yours and mine to discover!

 Updates & Information

June 4, 2020 - The District of Sparwood would like to remind residents to use caution around rivers and creeks.

Currently, water levels are elevated and have the potential to rise quickly during periods of rainfall. It is very important to keep children and pets away from rising waters as they are at an increased risk of slipping or falling. Erosion is possible and there may be an increased risk of banks giving way or debris coming down the watercourse.  Residents are urged to use a high level of caution and / or stay away from fast moving water and banks.

Although major flooding is not anticipated, residents who live near a river or creek may contact the Sparwood Fire Hall at 250.425.0558 to discuss sandbags. Please leave a voicemail, and your call will be returned.

April 30, 2020 - Due to construction, there will be no power to the pedestrian crossing lights or street light at the bottom of Red Cedar Hill. Please use caution in this area and watch for pedestrians. We will notify the public when the lights are once again operational.
