Notice of Hearing: OCP & Zoning Amendment for Off-Leash Dog Park

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held on June 18, 2019 at 6:00 pm in Council Chambers, 136 Spruce Avenue, Sparwood, to hear submissions related to a proposal to amend the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw designations of the subject lands to permit an off-leash dog park.

Public Hearing for Zoning Bylaw Amendment 1252

In general terms, Bylaw 1252 cited as "Zoning Bylaw No. 264, 1981 Amendment Bylaw 1252, 2019” will add ‘child care facility’ as a permitted use in the C-1 C.B.D. Commercial Zone.

Informal Public Hearing for 1241 Sycamore Road

Council will hold an informal public hearing at the Special Meeting on April 30, 2019 for Development Variance Permit 2019-004 for 1241 Sycamore Road to decrease the minimum side yard for an accessory building to construct a detached garage.

Informal Public Hearing for 440 Mountain Ash Crescent

The applicant has applied for a variance to allow for construction of a detached garage in the rear of the property which is within the side yard setback and taller than allowed in the Zoning Bylaw.

Public Hearing scheduled for M-1 Zone Amendment

A public hearing has been scheduled for March 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Council chambers. The subject of this hearing is a proposed amendment to the M-1 Light Industrial zone to change the way offices are regulated in that zone. 

This amendment has been discussed at Council and a previous public hearing dated December 4, 2017. There have been changes to the wording of the bylaw, requiring a second public hearing.

Public Hearing on M1 Light Industrial zoning amendment to Reconvene on January 15, 2018

The Public Hearing regarding the proposed amendment to the M-1 Light Industrial zone which began on December 4, 2017 has been adjourned to reconvene at the regular meeting on January 15, 2018, at 7:00pm in Council Chambers, to provide District staff with additional time to consult with property owners that may be impacted by the proposed change and obtain their feedback on the new options for Council’s consideration.
