The District of Sparwood, Teck Resources Limited and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy are working in partnership to bring Well #4 online as a new drinking water supply source to residents of Sparwood.
A reminder that the District of Sparwood sprinkling regulations are in effect from June 1 through September 30 each year to promote water conservation.
The District of Sparwood has commenced work on locating a new community drinking water supply, near Cummings Creek. Work is proceeding, funded by Teck, in consultation with the Interior Health Authority and regulations of the Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy.
*UPDATE* The water service repairs are now complete.
Residents please note that water may be shut off for a short period of time between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on October 23, 2017. This is for repairs to the water services in the affected areas. This affects areas in Cherrywood, parts of Cypress Drive, and all of Whiskey Jack.
The District is seeking proposals from qualified Engineering Consultants to develop “Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Plans” intended to assist the District in strategic direction, asset management initiatives and both short and long term decision making. Deadline: March 7, 2017 Local Time.
The District is working in both the Aspen Drive mechanical building and the Aspen Drive hot box. Residents in the Mountainview Mobile Home Park may experience fluctuations in water pressure during this time.
