With the ongoing popularity of public skates and public swims and the limited number of patrons that can be accommodated on the ice and in the pool the District is now requesting patrons pre-for the public skate or public swim they would like to attend.
Effective at noon Mountain Time on Friday, July 24, 2020, Category 2 open burning will be prohibited within the District of Sparwood. This prohibition is in addition to the Category 3 open burning prohibition that was put in place throughout the District on April 16, 2020.
The Sparwood Fitness Centre is now open for use, with health and safety protocols in place.
Effective immediately, the Sparwood Skatepark is open for use. Skatepark patrons are requested to follow the posted guidelines at the park and follow recommendations from the provincial health authority, provincial recreation agencies and Canada Skateboard.
District of Sparwood parks, sports fields, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts are now open for public use. Several safety measures are in place regarding the access of these areas.
The District of Sparwood would like to advise residents that the municipality will be temporarily closing the gravel portion of Sparwood Heights Drive. To facilitate the installation of the watermain, the areas outlined in the mapin red will be closed to traffic on Sunday, September 8, 2019.
The District of Sparwood is pleased to announce the implementation of two LED illuminated crosswalks which are now fully operational on the Pine Avenue – Aspen Drive Intersection leading to Tim Hortons and the top of Red Cedar Drive hill.
