Sparwood Receives $400,000 for Leisure Centre Energy Retrofit

The District of Sparwood has received $400,000 from the Provincial Government through the Community Recreation Program.  The monies will be used for the Leisure Centre Energy Retrofit Project which will replace the 27-year old heating system and gas boilers.  Doing this will reduce Green House Gas emissons by 163 tonnes/year and save the District approximately $49,000/year.  These savings will be invested in public engagement activities to promote active living.
