Sparwood Ratifies CUPE Contract

Council for the District of Sparwood has ratified a Memorandum of Settlement between CUPE Local 2698 and the District of Sparwood. The two year agreement includes a wage increase of 2% per year and a signing bonus of $670 for full time and $335 for part time and casual employees.

“We are very pleased to have the negotiations completed,” stated Sparwood Mayor David Wilks.

The new agreement includes changes to language and incremental increases to various premiums and benefits.
CUPE 2698 represents approximately 51 members who provide a wide variety of municipal services, including snow removal, road maintenance, parks and recreation, arena and aquatics, sewer and water, garbage collection, planning and engineering and administration.
