The RDEK is currently reviewing its Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP). They are asking for the public's input on how they use the current solid waste and recycling systems and what they'd like to see in the future. Survey deadline is February 25, 2019.

From January 15 - February 28, 2019 the District will be seeking resident, worker and visitor participation in engagement activities related to the livability study. Participate through an online survey, visit a pop-up office, attend a workshop or stop in at our booth at Winterfest!
Clean Air Bylaw 1229, 2018 governs where tobacco and cannabis smoking and vaping will be allowed in Sparwood.
Council wants to hear from you as we consider if we need to amend the bylaw so that it reflects the current community views on smoking in public places. A short survey poll has been created to get input from the community on smoking and vaping in public places.

The District of Sparwood is recruiting members to a new advisory committee to council that will help better understand and guide the management of impacts on the community from Baldy Ridge Extension at Teck’s Elkview Operations.
The District of Sparwood is currently seeking Emergency Support Services (ESS) volunteers to assist residents who are forced to leave their homes because of fire, floods, hazmat spills or other emergencies. If you live in Sparwood, you are invited to a Public Budget Consultation Meeting that will be held to discuss the District’s Financial Plan for the next five years. Council invites and encourages the public to attend and provide feedback that will assist Council in setting priorities for our community.
