Seeking Advisory Committee Volunteers
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
The Socio-Community & Economic Effects Advisory Committee (the “Committee”) will be a Committee of Council and will work with District of Sparwood staff and review plans from Teck to monitor adverse effects on the Sparwood community related to the
Baldy Ridge Extension Project.
WHO WOULD BE A GOOD FIT?
This is a working committee that will have regular meetings and will require work and critical thought from its members. The ideal candidates will be strong advocates for the community, big picture thinkers, have diverse backgrounds and experience, and have a desire to make a positive impact on the quality of life in Sparwood.
WHEN DO WE START?
We are accepting applications to serve on this Committee until June 22, 2018. After that District staff will be reviewing applications and may contact short listed individuals for interviews. We expect the Committee to have its first formal meeting in late spring/early summer, 2018.
HOW DO I APPLY?
Please prepare a maximum one page letter about why you would like to serve on this committee, as well as a maximum one page resume of relevant experience (i.e. participating in other organizations or work experience, etc.). We strongly recommend reviewing more detail on our website at www.sparwood.ca/livable
before applying. Applications can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org or dropped off in person at the Main Office at 136 Spruce Avenue.
