The District of Sparwood boasts award winning drinking water and is non-chlorinated. The city is serviced by 3 wells – 2 at Mackenzie Springs and 1 at Sparwood Proper > 2,000,000 impg/day.
Treatment – fluoridation added to natural amount to achieve 0.7 mg/l. Storage capacity 500,000 gallons at two locations, Sparwood Heights and Sparwood Proper.
Bacteriological testing of all 3 sources and one quadrant are conducted weekly with full chemical analysis being completed every few years. Chemical analysis results and comparisons to the Canadian Drinking Water Guyidelines are included below in PDF format and may be downloaded.
