Fire & Public Safety

The Sparwood Fire Department provides fire suppression, motor vehicle extrication, rescue, fire prevention inspections (commercial), and public “Fire Prevention & Safety” education, as well as other related services within the District of Sparwood.

Through Fire Service and Mutual Aid Agreements, the Department also provides fire suppression and vehicle extrication services to:

  • Regional District of East Kootenay - portions of "Area A"
  • City of Fernie
  • Regional District of East Kootenay - Hosmer
  • District of Elkford
  • Municipality of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta
  • Teck Coal - Elkview Operations
