Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 136 Spruce Avenue, Sparwood, BC, to consider a proposed amendment to the District of Sparwood “Zoning Bylaw No. 264, 1981”.
Applicant: District of Sparwood
Property affected: Residential, Commercial, Light Industrial and Agricultural zones which includes many properties around Sparwood.
In general terms, Bylaw 1071 cited as "Zoning Bylaw No. 264, 1981 Amendment Bylaw 1071, 2011" will amend the Height of Building definition, add an Outdoor Wood Burning Boiler definition, increase the maximum heights for R-3 (High Density Residential), Commercial and M-1 (Light Industrial) zones, permit seasonal use of storage containers in C-2 (Highway Commercial) and C-4 (Comprehensive Commercial) zones and allow Outdoor Wood Burning Boilers only for commercial greenhouses in A-1 (Agricultural) zones.
All persons who believe that their interest is affected by the proposed bylaw shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard in person, by a representative, or by written submission on the matters contained within Bylaw 1071 at the Public Hearing. Written submissions may be sent to the District of Sparwood, Box 520, Sparwood, BC V0B 2G0. Electronic submissions by email should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that due to potential email issues, all submissions sent by email should be confirmed by phone at the number listed below. These submissions must be received by no later than 4:00 p.m. on September 6th, 2011 in order to ensure their availability to Council at the Public Hearing. All submissions must include your name and street address and are considered public information, pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Following the close of the Public Hearing, no further submissions or comments from the public or interested persons can be accepted by members of Council.
The above Bylaw and related staff reports and background information may be inspected at the Municipal Office, 136 Spruce Avenue, Sparwood, B.C., during regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. local time, Monday to Friday excepting Statutory Holidays from August 24th, 2011 to September 6th, 2011.
