I moved to Sparwood in 1982 from Baie Verte, NL with my parents and siblings.  My parents still live in town.  I met my husband here in 1982 and we have two daughters who have settled here.  In February of 2011 we became proud grandparents for the first time.

Currently, I am the Assistant Librarian & Child and Youth Librarian at the Saprwood Public LIbrary.  I have held those positions for six and a half years.  During my time at the Library I have completed the requirements of the Community Librarian Program and the Child & Youth Library Services Program.  I love my job as it is very fulfilling and challenging.  Prior to this position I spent many years in daycare and working with special needs children.

I sit on the Sparwood Early Childhood Development Committee, the Board of Directors for the Treehouse Daycare and I sit at the Community Literacy Advisory Council table.  I spent 19 years as a volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada where I held many administrative roles, which I feel have given me wonderful experience for the role as Councillor.

I am honored that the voters of Sparwood have elected me as Councillor and will work hard to represent them to the best of my ability.
