The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) oversees the financial operation of the District and makes sure Council policies, direction and resolutions are implemented.

The District of Sparwood is made up of seven departments, each headed by a director or manager who make up the senior management team. The senior management team meets regularly to discuss corporate-wide issues and generate solutions to corporate administrative or operational problems, and recommend options to Council for policy development.

Members of the senior management team are responsible to the CAO for the effective and efficient operation of their respective departments.
